- Create backstories for my characters
- Think about colour scheme
- Keep practicing
How to improve my character drawing form:
- Take life drawing lessons
- Practice drawing parts of the body that I find challenging. Such as hands
- Visit museums and zoos. Practice drawing animals
- Draw whilst I'm out and about. On the bus, in a cafe etc.
Archetypes:
Draw characters with different archetypes. Such as:
- The hero
- The villain
- The jester
- The explorer
- The Sage/ Harold
- The caregiver
Think about shape Language:
- Circle- Soft, friendly, approachable
- Square- Strong, supportive, reliable
- Triangle- Sharp, dangerous, unpredictable
Know my character:
- Personality
- Emotion
- What the face expressions and poses say about them
- Is my character readable based on it's silhouette
